Kill Bill, vol 1
release year: 2003
genre: Tarantino
viewing setting: theater, 10/23/03
synopsis: A member of an elite assassin team is betrayed and left for dead...but she lives, and after a 4-year coma, she wakes up and seeks revenge.
impressions: The style here is weird, much like Pulp Fiction - cool and confusing, with non-linear events and scenes. Also, there are plenty of cool lines, jokes, bad guys/girls...and tons of blood and violence. I'll say no more.
things to watch for: The swordfight scene at the end. Without a doubt. Trust me on this.
something this movie has that no other movie has: A hot yet psychotic schoolgirl who fights with a spiked ball-and-chain.
acting: Uma Thurman does a good job as a dangerous woman hell-bent on revenge. Vivica Fox is good as the first person who feels the pain of revenge. Lucy Liu and her entire entourage did a great job as villains.
final word: Highly entertaining - and I love it when people leave a movie because it's not what they expected because they didn't take the time.
